Peace Bear Tush Tag Numbers
A very popular way to organize and collect Peace Bears is based on a small red stamp they may or may not have inside of their tush tags! This little red stamp marks what factory the bear was manufactured in, probably used by the Ty Inc. company for quality control. Bears with Indonesia tags will not have a stamp. Also not all Peace Bears made in China will have a stamp either. The stamps did not appear until 6th generation tags were introduced, and started to appear on Peace Bears around June of 1998.
Red China Stamp:
Peace Bears have been found with the following possible stamp numbers: 100, 101, 102, 107, 108, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 119, 120 & 121. Of course some numbers are considered more rare then others! The most common numbers are 102 and 115, and the most rare 108, 113 and 114.
Some numbers in combination with certain tags characteristics, such as a #113 with a Fareham Hants location and TY INC in all caps on its tush tag, are more rare and difficult to find.
