Hi, and welcome to aboutBeanies. My name is Marie Dyson the webmaster of aboutBeanies. I am an avid Beanie collector who is not only addicted to collecting everything Ty, but also addicted to collecting Beanie information and adding it to the website.

I am 29 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband Jay since July 28, 2001! Jay and I share many passions, including technology and our love for animals.

I also make and sell jewelry online, I have a store on a website for all things handmade called Etsy: Broadway Beads Jewelry. I also make glass lampwork beads which you can read more about here: Homegrown Gems Lampwork Beads.

AboutBeanies is my hobby, I do have a day job! I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Aviation Computer Science and work as a Software Engineer for an aerospace company. I started collecting Beanies in 1996 during my first year of college, and haven't slowed down since!

I started aboutBeanies in April 2001 as a place to list my collection and for my personal reference, somehow from there it just grew and grew. Running aboutBeanies has been a very exciting experience, I get about 2000-3000 unique visitors every day to the site, many return several times a day! Many thanks to my husband for helping this site get started, helping with scripts to automate things (even causing me to learn more Perl programming!!) and most of all supporting my hobby to collect cute (silly) stuffed animals!

My goal for my website is to provide the best source of information about Ty Beanie Babies in a format that is easy to read and contains a complete history of Ty Beanie Babies. Ninety percent of my website is dedicated to Beanie Babies, the rest details other Ty Inc. products and events.

I aim to keep all checklists and information databases updated within days of new releases and retirements. Of course I have plenty of things beyond Beanie Babies to accomplish each day, so some weeks things don't get updated as quickly as I would like.
